1. Who we are

Petipede ("we", "us", "our") sells spooky-cute costumes for cats — one product, made extremely well. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit petipede.com, place an order, or sign up for our emails, and what we do with it.

2. Information we collect

Order information. When you buy a Petipede costume, we collect your name, email address, shipping address, and order details so we can get the costume to your cat. Payment card details are never stored by us — they are processed securely by our checkout provider (Shopify) and the payment networks.

Email preferences. If you join our newsletter (10% off your first Petipede), we store your email address to send you costume drops, fit tips, and cat photos. You can unsubscribe from any email, any time.

Usage data. Like most websites, we may collect basic technical information — pages viewed, browser type, and approximate location derived from your IP address — to keep the site working and understand how people shop with us.

Local storage. We store a small shopping cart in your browser's local storage so your costume selection survives a page refresh. This never leaves your device except to build your checkout.

3. How we use your information

We use your information to: fulfill and ship your order; notify you about your order status; respond to your questions; send marketing emails you have opted into; and keep the store secure, functional, and improving.

We do not sell your personal information. Full stop.

4. Sharing with third parties

We share your information only with the parties who help us run Petipede: our e-commerce and payments platform (Shopify, which processes checkout and payments), shipping carriers who deliver your order, and email providers who deliver our newsletter. Each processes data only as needed to perform its function.

We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights, safety, or property.

5. Cookies & analytics

We use a minimal set of cookies and similar technologies to keep the cart working, remember your preferences, and measure (in aggregate) how the store is used. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the main thing you may lose is a persistent cart between visits.

6. Data retention

We keep order records for as long as needed for tax, accounting, and warranty purposes, and newsletter email addresses until you unsubscribe. When information is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete the personal information we hold about you, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these, email support@petipede.com and we will respond within a reasonable time frame (and generally well under 30 days).

If you are in the EU/EEA or UK, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

8. Security

We use industry-standard measures — encrypted connections (HTTPS) and reputable processors — to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we treat your data the way we'd want ours treated.

9. Children

Petipede is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. (Cats of any age are welcome, obviously.)

10. Changes to this policy

If we update this policy, we will post the new version here with a revised date. Material changes that affect existing customers will be flagged on the store or by email.
